Dear Mars Hill Church,
I'm now very busy trying to cope with my learning in Erskine Seminary. It would be unfair for me not to tell you how much I enjoyed fellowshipping and worshipping together with you during the summer. Among the things that I did during summer was giving a talk to Cobb County Scouts, about my experience as a Boy Scout in Kenya. I got an opportunity to feel young again, as I shared my experiences.
I, too, was able to do odd jobs for the church people. Among the jobs I did were: yard work, cleaning and staining decks, pressure washing driveways, etc. All this was real fun to me. In the process I was able to raise some money to support my family back in Kenya during the three months of my break from Seminary. A big thanks to all who gave me these jobs to do.
Above all I was getting blessed as I worship with fellow Christians in Mars Hill Church. I experienced the warmth of Christian love and friendship. I can confidently say that after attending the worship services, the men of the church Bible study, Thursday prayer meeting and my Sunday School, that I was "fired up" in the Spirit and ready to go to Seminary for my second semester.
I'm almost half way with my semester now. I started it with a lot of strength after a good time of break. Among the courses I'm taking this semester are:
1. Basic Preaching
2. Old Testament
3. New Testament
4. Christian Ethics
These four courses are so demanding that to keep up with the work I have found myself spending an average of eight hours a day studying. Sometimes it's quite tiring. All the same, this is not a burden to me. It is something I love and enjoy to do. I feel I have the drive and the will to do it.
"Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6.
"For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His purpose" Philippians 2:13.
The Kenya Connection team has used these scriptures a lot in encouraging me on my Spiritual journey. I have come to love these works and they are a constant reminder that God is in control of my life.
A big thank you to all that have continued to support me financially for my seminary education and family up keep. This piece of paper is not enough to mention you by name. I assure you that God knows your names and has records of what you have done and are doing for me. Be assured that I greatly appreciate your sacrifice for me.
Finally, do continue to keep me in your prayers so that the mighty God will open my mind to understanding His word.
"As the deer pants for the waters brooks, so pants my soul for you, O God" Psalm 42:1 NKJV.
"Oh, how I love Your law? It is my meditation all day." Psalm 119:97 NKJV
I am proud to be associated with you at Mars Hill Church. You are on my mind together with all those who have shared their lives with me. I miss you greatly and hope to see you when God permits.
Yours in the Lords Vineyard,
